Welcome to Lan Yin Research Group!
We are dedicated to developing advanced technologies targeting energy and healthcare problems that can better serve our society. We seek to exploit unusual and interesting characteristics of biomaterials, including metals, semiconductors and polymers, in the form of ribbon, membranes and related, at either moderate or physiological temperature. The aim is to understand materials properties at the biological interfaces, e.g., degradation kinetics and modulation mechanisms, and creatively integrate various materials into diagnostic or therapeutic systems that have novel applications. Our current work focuses on biodegradable electronics for tissue regeneration, chemical sensing, neural modulation and energy harvesting. The research is highly multidisciplinary, and combines both fundamental materials studies and innovative engineering efforts.
